Tourism professions

Tourism in the Brussels region

This industry represents more than 30,000 direct jobs in Brussels and covers a very significant number of professions with or without qualifications. Brussels is attracting more and more tourists and also conventions.

  • Take a look at Destination Métiers, which is a free information and advice website about professions (Actiris) and training programmes (Bruxelles Formation). You can then make your choice and be sure which profession you’d like to work in.
  • We also recommend a visit to the website containing information on the Labour Market in Brussels. You can search by keyword, for example: tourism, HORECA, hotel, etc., and all of the possible professions relating to these words will come up. You can then click, for example, on hotel concierge and you’ll find a job description.
  • For more information on the tourism industry: we also recommend the SIEP (information service for studies and professions), which organises student expos and has an information centre in Brussels (and in Wallonia) open to the public. It also publishes very useful professional booklets: Hospitality, Sport and Leisure, Transport and Logistics, etc.
